Who we are

The Churchill-Wilkins Rotary is an organization of business and professional people united worldwide who provide humanitarian service for local and international communities, encourage high ethical standards, and help build goodwill and peace throughout the world. “Service above Self” is the Rotary’s motto.

Our Story

The Churchill Wilkins Rotary Club was established on February 15, 1972.  To honor the selfless dedication and service of all Rotarians worldwide, specifically the founding members of Churchill Wilkins Rotary Club: Arthur Haldeman, Joseph Rubino, W. Dee Sheperd and Jack Tyke, the Churchill Wilkins Rotary Founders Endowed Scholarship was established on May 4, 2015, with the Community College of Allegheny County Educational Foundation.  The world’s first service club, the Rotary Club of Chicago was formed on February 23, 1905 by Paul T. Harris.  Today, Rotary flourishes worldwide with members in more than 200 countries.  The mission of Rotary International is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.  Club members have many opportunities for humanitarian service, both locally and internationally.  In their business and professional lives, Rotarians abide by the Four-Way Test:

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
